We had so much fun this summer hosting Tess Newall’s decorative painting workshop at the barn. Tess’s guests were invited to select an item of their choice to decorate, including bobbin lamps, candlesticks and mirror frames made by Alfred Newall. Tess led the guests through her process of decorative painting including sharing her inspirations, tips and advice.

Our traditional flint barn with the rose garden outside provided plenty of inspiration for decorative painting and it was wonderful to see everyone’s designs come to life. We treated the guests to delicious, seasonal, and locally-sourced food and drinks throughout the day.

Tess will be bringing her workshops back to the barn for two special dates next year: 16th May and 7th September. Tickets are available on her website now.
